Prewar Antique Car Tour (1942 & earlier)

Sunday, August 9, 2009

On Sunday August 9th, 2009, the ACCCC’s Great Pine Ridge Region hosted its fourth annual pre-war (1942 and earlier) antique car tour. This was a driving tour (about 2 hours) and featured one tour for the older, slower vehicles (~50 miles) and a second one for the newer, more speedier cars (~70 miles), with everyone coming together for a BBQ lunch. Photos and video were taken of all the vehicles and participants to create a commemorative DVD which was mailed to each driver. The tour was open to any vehicle, restored, original or somewhere in between (sorry no modifieds) and took place in scenic Northumberland County from about 10 am to 3 pm. The roads were superb for these old cars... scenic, quiet, paved and moderately hilly. Membership in the ACCCC or any other car club was not a pre-requisite to participate.
